Lukaku continues to play second fiddle to Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford, with the latter scoring six times in 10 games since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival as interim boss.

Rashford, 21, scored United’s winner against Leicester on Sunday on his 100th Premier League appearance as a resurgent Red Devils side made it nine wins from 10.

And talkSPORT pundit Cascarino, writing in his column for the Times, says Rashford is now United’s No.1 forward – something he doesn’t see changing anytime soon.

He said: “I said last month that Marcus Rashford needs to be more clinical and that if he does, he will be up there with Kylian Mbappé as the most desired youngster in world football.

“There is a great belief at United at the moment and I feel that Rashford has grown up a lot in a month.

Rashford celebrates his winner against Leicester on Sunday – his sixth goal in 10 games
“It feels as though he is going to be a complete player if he becomes more clinical.”

He continued: “He is United’s No.1 forward now and Romelu Lukaku won’t get near the team.

“Rashford could go through a barren run and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would stick by him. Lukaku will be the £90million misfit for the rest of the season.”

United travel to struggling Fulham on Saturday, before facing arguably their toughest test of the Solskjaer era to date three days later when they entertain Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League round of 16 first leg clash at Old Trafford.
