Players ratings for Everton vs Wolves

Andre Gomes celebrates with teammate Richarlison.

Adam Jones was on player ratings duty from Goodison Park this afternoon as Everton were humbled 3-1 by Wolves at Goodison Park.

The visitors took the lead through an early Ruben Neves penalty before Andre Gomes fired home his first home for the club in style shortly after.

Second-half strikes from Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker, however, ensures the pressure remains firmly on Marco Silva after a poor run of form in recent months.

Leighton Baines was a first-half substitute for the Blues after picking up a first-half injury.

Jordan Pickford - 7

Made a brilliant save to stop Dendoncker at a crucial point of the first half, and there was little he could do about any of Wolves' strikes that did find the back of the net. He can rightly feel aggrieved that he has conceded so many today.

Seamus Coleman - 5

Performed well when asked to track back in the first half, only to lose sight of Jimenez as Wolves regained the lead towards the end of that period. Looked sluggish throughout the rest of the match before being replaced by Calvert-Lewin.

Michael Keane - 5

Gave away a reckless free kick towards the end of the first half which ultimately gave the visitors the lead once more. A few important interceptions aside, Keane was caused far too many problems by both Jimenez and Jota as Wolves took full control of the game.

Kurt Zouma - 6

Was forced to cover well for Leighton Baines in the early stages of the match, but picked up a booking in the process of doing that. But for a few vital blocks from the French international, the visitors could have sealed an even bigger victory at Goodison Park, so some credit needs to be awarded for that.

Leighton Baines - 3

You've had to wonder how fit the left-back really was, because he never looked comfortable at all out there. Replaced by Kenny in the 37 minute and probably should never have been allowed to start the match in the first place.

Andre Gomes - 6

What a strike from the Portuguese midfielder to get Everton back in the game, but his goal against the run of play was about as good as it got for Gomes. Struggled throughout the majority of the match as Wolves managed to dominate the midfield battle, with their incisive and quick play bypassing the on-loan Barcelona man on many occasions.

Tom Davies - 5

A few good passes in the first half gave a hint of promise that Tom Davies could produce a performance similar to his display at Huddersfield, but that wasn't the case. Played his side into danger far too often and ended up picking up a booking in the second half as Wolves took firm control of proceedings.

Gylfi Sigurdsson - 4

Try as he could to close down the Wolves defence with his work rate in the first half, all of it went to no avail. Unfortunately, that was the only aspect of Sigurdsson's game that was noticeable. The creative side of the Icelandic international was non-existent for the most part as Everton's front line were starved of any opportunities.

Theo Walcott - 4

Missed a good chance when one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the first period, but apart from that you'd be hard-pressed to think of anything the winger accomplished at all. There was little surprise when he was replaced by Lookman in the second half.

Cenk Tosun - 5

Only picked up the ball on a select number of occasions, and one of those led to a great turn and lay off to set up Andre Gomes to score the Blues only goal. Aside from that, there was little on offer from the Turkish international as he wasn't even handed the briefest sniff of a chance to bag himself a Goodison Park goal.

Richarlison – 4

Found himself on the periphery of the game throughout the entire 90 minutes, and probably put in his most quiet display in a royal blue shirt so far. Perhaps wasn't found enough by his teammates, but certainly didn't do enough to make himself available either.
SUBS

Jonjoe Kenny – 6

Slotted straight into an unfamiliar position late in the first half, and then was moved into being a third centre-back as Silva was desperate for a goal late on. His effort and work-rate should be commended in very difficult circumstances.

Ademola Lookman – 5

Came on as the game already looked done and dusted, and wasn't able to change the tide in any significant way.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 5

Missed a header late on which could have claimed a consolation goal, but was quiet apart from that.
