Liverpool are confident their crucial Premier League clash with Leicester City will go ahead on Wednesday night despite weather warnings across the UK.
Commuters in western and northern parts of the country were facing travel chaos due to snow and black ice, while the Met Office issued a yellow warning through to Friday.
On Wednesday morning runways at both Liverpool and Manchester airports were closed temporarily as crews cleared snow.
But the Premier League leaders do not expect the adverse weather to impact on the visit of the Foxes.
The Anfield pitch is heated meaning the surface will remain playable regardless of snowfall.
Liverpool council could intervene if they deem the walkways inside and around the stadium to be too treacherous for supporters, but they have taken the precaution of gritting those areas.
