The busy Christmas period has begun, and Liverpool are top of the league.
The performance against Wolves on Friday was excellent. In particular, Jordan Henderson stood out as a player who can influence games this season. Some of the criticism which the captain has received has been unwarranted.
Fabinho and Henderson’s partnership is definitely something which Liverpool fans will want to see more of. The two looked completely in control of the midfield – with Wolves only chances coming from rare passing errors in rainy conditions.

Newcastle present a different challenge to Wolves
Mike Ashley’s reluctance to invest heavily in the squad means that Newcastle can only play one way; park the bus.
The Magpies biggest threat will come from counter attacks and set pieces, but this seems to be a strategy which Liverpool have overcome, so far, this season.
In regards to the team selection, with Arsenal and Manchester City on the horizon, we must rotate and use the squad for this one.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold back in full training, this is a good game for him to slot back into.
James Milner will welcome the return of Trent as it means he can return back into midfield. While Fabinho has been great recently, the Brazilians will likely have been partying until 5:30am.
In attack, the Keita-Sturridge combination starts. Shaqiri and Mane complete the attack on the flanks. We can make the right impact subs from the bench with Salah and Firmino if we need to.
