Real Madrid had a relatively quiet summer transfer window by their standards, but it looks like they are ready to spend some big money in the January window. The defending European champions are desperate to add some options to their midfield and now latest reports from Corriere dello Sport claim that Los Blancos are entering the race to sign Liverpool star Emre Can.
Emre Can's contract is set to run out in 2018 and with the German superstar capable of signing a pre-contract in January, Madrid are keen on securing the 23-year-old German's services.
Juventus have long been favourites to land Emre Can, but with Madrid now entering the race, Can might well be plying his trade in LaLiga next season.
A versatile player capable of playing in multiple positions across the pitch, he has shown glimpses of his vast potential this season.
However, with Liverpool having signed Naby Keita and Can refusing to sign a new contract, the Merseyside giants might be ready to agree a cut-price deal for their German star and minimise their losses in the transfer market.
