PSG 'close the door' on Di Maria sale

Paris Saint-Germain have ‘closed the door’ on a possible move to Barcelona for winger Angel Di Maria, according to reports in Spain.

Cadena Cope verifies a report in Le Parisien that Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu personally phoned PSG owner Nasser Al Khelaifi to discuss a deal for the Argentine.

Al Khelaifi’s response was said to be ‘blunt’ and made it clear it would be ‘impossible’ for the Blaugrana to construct a deal for the former Real Madrid player.

This represents further frustration for the Catalan giants who have been frustrated in their attempts to reinvest the €222m received for Neymar.

Moves for Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele have not yet materialised while the club are said to have pulled the plug on a deal for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

Di Maria left the Bernabeu for an ill-fated move to Manchester United in 2014 before moving to the Parc des Princes the following year and he has netted 16 Ligue 1 goals in 61 appearances.
