Real Madrid have completed the signing of 16-year old Vinicius Junior for a reported £38m fee, the club’s official website confirmed.
The Brazilian prodigy is one of South America’s hottest properties, having netted an astonishing 19 goals in just 22 games for the Brazil under-17s, while he also scored six in six games for the under-15s.
Although Junior has only played 17 minutes of professional football, that too coming in the month of May, he is widely regarded as the next big thing, something that is further confirmed by FC Barcelona’s interest. Talk about a minor triumph for Madrid.
The deal now done, Real Madrid’s latest signing will have to stay till the next July at least, which is when his agreement with the Los Blancos begins. However, the club wants him to call him up to the Santiago Bernabeu the following July to let him develop his game further. Simply put, he is still Flamengo’s property.
