According to a report from Spanish outlet Don Balon this evening, Barcelona star Lionel Messi has expressed his anger with the club after the Catalunyans missed out on a key transfer target.
Disappointment
Former Monaco star Bernardo Silva is the subject of the Argentine’s rumoured fury, with the Portuguese talent having been on the radar of both Messi and Barca for some time now.
Messi was of the mind that the club would be bringing in the attacking midfielder during the upcoming transfer window, and was reportedly deeply upset by the fact that the Blaurgrana allowed such a potential world-beater to slip through their fingers.
Barcelona saw the hugely-talented Portuguese as a long-term backup, and eventual successor to the famed trio of MSN, with his immense technical ability and tender years making the former Monaco man the ideal summer addition at the Camp Nou.
Silva completed a rumoured £43 million move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City yesterday, with the Citizens having beaten off competition from the likes of Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid, along with the aforementioned Barcelona.
