Aeron Ramsey - How we’ll prepare for cup final

When it comes to playing - and excelling - in Emirates FA Cup finals, Aaron Ramsey has amassed considerable experience.

Our No 8 famously scored the winner in the 2014 final against Hull City, and also started as we retained the trophy with a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa a year later.
So what’s the best way to prepare for Saturday’s final against Chelsea?
“Early on in the week we’ll probably see some clips or try to work on something on the training ground on where we can get into dangerous positions to hurt them,” Ramsey told Arsenal Player. “We’ll be working on that, and we’ll also be working on where they’re strong and how we can nullify that.
“But we’ll be focusing mostly on ourselves and how we want to play. We’ll have a chat with some of the staff for what is expected of us. We’ll all be ready and tuned in to what we’ve got to do to stop that.”
We’ve got mixed memories from games against Saturday’s opposition this season, beating them 3-0 at Emirates Stadium but losing 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

“I think the way we started the [home] game in the first half was very good,” Ramsey added. “We won the game in the first half really. We were very quick, we counter-attacked well, closed them down, got about them and everything seemed to come together on that day.
“I’m sure something similar will be required to beat them in the final as well.
“It was a different game [away] and we perhaps let individuals have a bit too much space. Hazard went on a bit of a run and put the ball in the net.
“We can’t let that happen again, we have to be right in his face and stop that at source.”
