Frank Lampard Explains Why Chelsea sold Romelu Lukaku and why they want him back

FRANK LAMPARD says Romelu Lukaku is a different player since his Chelsea days.

Lukaku left Chelsea on a permanent basis to join Everton in 2014.

The Belgian is the Premier League's top scorer this season and has been linked with a return to the Blues after rejecting a new contract with the Toffees.

Lampard, who played with him at Chelsea, says he always had the talent but he wasn't ready to spearhead their attack.

"He's very different, he's improved a lot," he said on Sky Sports.

"He was quite raw at Chelsea before but you could see he had the talent. 

"He wasn't ready to be a Chelsea striker. 

"What I did see was his ethic on the training ground. He's obviously taken that through with him now. 

"He's not very delicate on the ball and maybe his hold-up play can improve. 

"His audition has been the season and how he's performed."
