Guns N' Roses have done their bit for international cricket in Napier, now it's up to the weather gods as local officials cross their fingers for the curse to be broken.
McLean Park will host a one-day international against Australia on Thursday for the first time in nearly seven years, thanks to Wellington's Westpac Stadium having a prior booking for Axl Rose, Slash and company the same night.
After the Monday thriller when New Zealand snuck home by six runs, Central Districts chief executive Pete de Wet expects a sellout crowd of just over 10,000 for their bonus day-night fixture (2pm start NZT).
The only headache is the Napier weather, which uncannily produces dark clouds whenever a big cricket match is scheduled.
