Gabriel Obertan has joined Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic on a deal until the end of the season.
Obertan links up with Warren Joyce once again, having known the Latics boss from their time at Manchester United, where Obertan played when Joyce managed the reserve team.
The 27-year-old Frenchman joins on a free transfer from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, who he had only joined last August.
This move sees Obertan return to English football after his five year stint at Newcastle United was ended last May.
Obertan is the fifth man to move to the DW Stadium on transfer deadline day on what has been a very busy day for Joyce.
Wigan have also signed Matt Gilks and Mikael Mandron on permanent deals, along with Alex Bruce and James Weir on loan.
